Hi, my name is Breana Monét. I am a fashion designer based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have recently completed my degree at Louisiana State University in Apparel Design. I am currently working to complete my degree in Marketing. I have always had a passion for fashion designing, styling, and creating. I would love to gain experience working in the fashion industry.
Fashion has always been an outlet for me to express myself. As a child, I was timid and lacked self confidence. I found myself customizing my dolls and trying to make them outfits I saw myself wearing. I would ask my parents for old clothing to up-cycle into new pieces for myself, although they quickly fell apart due to my lack of sewing skill. As I became older, my love for fashion blossomed, and I knew I had to pursue it as a career. Sewing is therapeutic for me. My designs and style have given me an outlet to express myself in ways that words couldn't, and helped grow my self-confidence through expression. It is a way to be bold and show my character in spaces where I have trouble vocally expressing my thoughts and ideas. When I see people's confidence skyrocket when they put on the outfits I bring to life it brings me so much joy. Fashion makes me feel seen, and I love knowing that my pieces make others feel seen as well. I have truly found my passion, and look forward to creating more milestones within the industry.
